We’re looking for a seasoned Sr. Full Stack Developer who will also serve as a Technical Lead, helping guide and support two full stack engineers while playing a key role in shaping our product roadmap.
About the Role:
As a Sr. Full Stack Developer / Tech Lead at Strive, you’ll be at the intersection of engineering, product, and leadership. You’ll be hands-on in code but also stepping up to lead technical decision-making, ensure systems remain modern and scalable, and work closely with leadership to drive our product forward. You will be responsible for growing and mentoring the team.
You’ll work across our Laravel PHP backend and React and Flutter-based web and mobile apps, making architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and pushing us toward technical and product excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, lead and mentor a starting team of 2 full stack engineers, in addition to managing several existing contributors, guiding technical execution and fostering growth
- Execute an upgrade to our current architecture and systems based on a recently completed technical audit
- Remediate existing code inefficiencies
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend and frontend systems using Laravel, React and Flutter
- Deeply understand our use cases, and be able and willing to communicate with customers when needed
- Assist our team in compliance related tasks (SOCII, HIPAA, etc.)
- Ensure high code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and collaboration with QA automation tools and existing QA team members
- Maintain system integrity by keeping dependencies, services, and infrastructure (AWS, Bitbucket, etc.) up to date
- Manage and optimize data in MySQL and MongoDB
- Collaborate closely with product, CS, sales, and company leadership to shape feature direction and business priorities
- Think like a product engineer — not just implementing tasks, but identifying better ways to solve problems and deliver value
- Contribute to long-term product and platform vision
- Oversee and improve DevOps and release workflows
Tools:

About You:
- 5+ years of fullstack development experience, ideally with Laravel, React and Flutter
- Proven experience leading small engineering teams or projects
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, especially AWS
- Skilled in managing and querying MySQL and MongoDB databases
- Comfortable working in CI/CD environments, using Bitbucket or similar
- Passion for clean, maintainable, and scalable code
- Strong communication skills, and ability to translate business goals into technical strategies
- Experience or interest in the U.S. Employee Benefits ecosystem is a big plus
