- Contract Type: Full-time contractor (30-40 hours per week). Initial 3 month contract.
- Location: Fully remote within the U.S. or Canada
About the Role
We are seeking a Solutions Architect to help translate business needs into actionable, scalable software solutions across multiple ongoing projects. This role blends technical problem-solving, client communication, and requirements documentation to ensure clarity from concept through delivery. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both technical and client-facing environments, enjoys writing detailed technical requirements, and has a proven ability to help manage development teams. The ideal candidate will be able to balance architectural oversight with hands-on requirements definition. You’ll work directly with developers, designers, and client stakeholders to clarify business goals, document systems and integrations, and ensure implementation aligns with strategic objectives.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should demonstrate:
- 5+ years of experience in software development or solution design (Laravel/Vue preferred)
- Proven ability to lead client-facing requirements gathering meetings, ask clarifying questions, and translate discussions into actionable development tickets
- Experience owning the requirements process from discovery to documentation with minimal oversight
- Ability to move swiftly to solve problems and prioritize with clarity, without getting stuck in over analysis.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience leading small teams or providing technical direction on multi-developer projects
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves):
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)
- Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS systems, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows
- Experience with complex system design and third-party integrations
- Expertise in UI/UX optimization
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications and development tasks.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions, asking clarifying questions and proposing logical solutions.
- Engage with clients to discuss technical approaches and recommend the most effective solutions.
- Collaborate with developers to define scope, prioritize work, and support planning and release cycles.
- Provide technical oversight and ensure architectural consistency across projects.
- Guide and mentor development team members to uphold engineering standards and efficient workflows.
