About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Laravel Engineer who is passionate about building high-quality, scalable applications while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day coding. In this role, you will focus on hands-on development while contributing to technical design decisions and collaborating closely with product managers and other engineers. While not a full-time architect, you will have the opportunity to influence architecture and technical direction within your projects. If you have deep Laravel expertise, strong backend development skills, and enjoy writing production code while contributing to overall system design, we’d love to connect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize complex backend features using Laravel, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Provide input into architectural decisions and recommend technical approaches for assigned projects.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
  • Implement and maintain comprehensive testing strategies to ensure system reliability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across the application stack.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7+ years of professional experience as a PHP Developer, with extensive Laravel experience.
  • Backend Expertise: Strong proficiency in PHP, Laravel, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and server-side development.
  • Front-End Familiarity: Working knowledge of front-end frameworks like Vue.js, React, or similar.
  • API Development: Experience designing, building, and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Deployment: Familiarity with server management, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies (Docker or similar tools).
  • Testing: Solid experience with testing frameworks such as PHPUnit or Laravel Dusk.
  • Best Practices: Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, security standards, and efficient coding practices.

 

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Exposure to AI and OCR tools (e.g., OpenAI) to enhance product features.
  • Familiarity with SaaS multi-tenant architecture and microservices.
  • Experience with advanced containerization and deployment strategies (e.g., Kubernetes).

 

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to make technical decisions within assigned projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and taking ownership of deliverables.

 

Location:

  • This is a flexible, remote position; however, candidates must currently reside in and be legally authorized to work in the United States
